Bangladesh Educational and Counselling Psychology Society (BECPS) Elects New Committee Members at Annual Meeting. Dhaka, Bangladesh – October 27, 2023: The annual meeting of the Bangladesh Educational and Counselling Psychology Society (BECPS) was held yesterday at 5 p.m. at Dhaka University’s RC Majumdar Auditorium. The meeting marked the announcement of the new committee for the term 2023-2025.

Dr. Shahin Islam, Professor of the Department of Educational and Counselling Psychology (DECP) at Dhaka University, presided over the meeting as the President of BECPS. He was also re-elected as the Chairman of the department. Dr. A. J. M. A. Islam, Associate Professor of the same department, was elected General Secretary.

The executive committee, comprising 15 members, was elected through direct voting by 150 members. The election process was overseen by Dr. Mahmudur Rahman, Vice-Provost of IU-BAT and Counselling Psychologist Lutfun Nahar Begum from Monovikash Foundation, and Counsellor Moksed Malek.

The new committee expressed gratitude for the trust placed in them and pledged to work diligently for the progress of educational and counselling psychology in Bangladesh. The BECPS is dedicated to fostering the professional development of psychologists and ensuring the safety and security of mental health professionals.
